The Cottage

This traditional fisherman’s cottage has views from every beach side window of the lovely harbour in St Ives. Facing south, its back door opens right onto a private terrace on the beach and is in one of the loveliest and sunniest locations in St Ives.

It is a simple cottage, traditional and charming and little changed over the last 80 years. Please be aware that it has little of the modern facilities that are now mostly the norm in St Ives. This we feel is part of its appeal to many of its visitors, many of whom come back year after year.  Please note that the stairs are uneven and very windy with low headroom  Built on 3 floors, it has many of its original features still in place with window seats in the sitting room where one can sit and watch the ever-changing harbour view.

Features:

  • 3 storey I bedroom cottage

  • Sleeps 2  + 2  (sofa bed in lounge but really only suited to younger children)

  • Bathroom full size bath with hand shower and basin

  • Separate toilet

  • TV in sitting room

  • Oven with built in microwave

  • Fridge with small icebox

  • Electric two burner hob

  • Dishwasher

  • Private outside patio area south facing with outside table and chairs.  Cobbled so a little uneven.

  • One small well behaved dog allowed on lower floor kitchen area which opens onto the beach. Please advise on the booking form if you are bringing your pet.

  • All Utilities included

  • Gas central heating/on demand hot water

  • Wi Fi

  • We provide bed linen for the double bed and towels for 2 people.  If you wish to use the sofa bed there are pillows and duvets but please bring own towels and linen for the bed. It is a double duvet. Further bedlinen can be ordered at cost if don't want to bring own.  The sofa bed is really only suited to younger children.

  • Beach towels not provided

  • We have recently installed a wood burner in the sitting room.  We dont supply firewood and ask that you bring your own or you can purchase wood packs from Norway Stores and Colensos both in St Ives.  Norway Stores being the little local shop very close by.

The cottage is very old and very quirky with two spiral staircases, uneven flooring and low headroom areas. Please call or e mail if you want to discuss any of the above or find out more information.

This is without doubt the best cottage we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in a few.) The views are superb, the weather was good, food excellent, The Tate fantastic.  We'll be back!!
